Three-race virtual off-road endurance series to commence April 21 at Bark River

Yes2Motorsport is pleased to announce the formation of Virtual Off-Road Team Endurocross (VORTEX), a three-round yearlong championship series for off-road races utilizing the iRacing platform. The series will commence with April 21’s Shenandoah Shine Great Lakes 100 at Bark River International Raceway, and will include subsequent events at Wild West Motorsports Park in August and the return of the Group Therapy 100 at Crandon International Raceway at the end of December.

VORTEX events feature four distinct classes: Unlimited Truck (Pro 4), Unlimited Car (Subaru WRX STI), Limited Truck (Pro 2 Lite), and Limited Car (Volkswagen Beetle Lite). Each event will last for 100 minutes, with two or three drivers per entry and mandatory fair-share driving rules in place for each team. Points will be tracked for both drivers and teams across each event, with all race scores counting and championships tracked both by class and across the full series.
The VORTEX points system is inspired by desert racing, with larger divisions earning more points. Each class will award 500 points to its last place finisher, with an increase of 100 points per position from there. For example, a class with 14 entries will pay out 1800 points to each driver on its winning team. Drivers may change teammates and classes freely throughout the season in hopes of pursuing the overall VORTEX championship.
The Shenandoah Shine Great Lakes 100 will kick off the season on Thursday, April 21, with the session kicking off at 8:30PM ET with practice and qualifying and the green flag flying at 9PM ET. From there, the series will head to Wild West Motorsports Park on August 25 for the Sierra Nevada 100, and the inaugural VORTEX campaign will conclude with the second annual Group Therapy 100 at the legendary Crandon International Raceway on December 29. Last year’s Group Therapy 100 class winners included members of some of the top teams in virtual off-road racing, led by overall winners Keaton Swane and Crystal King of Factory Simsport.
